The Annual General Meeting was held on 25th March at St. Williams of York, R.C. Church Hall, Stanmore. The following office bearers were elected:-
President: Merryl Peiris, 1st Vice President: Gerry Keegal, 2nd Vice President: Dr. Lionel Samarasinghe, 3rd Vice President: Fred Pereira, Hon. Secretary: Trevor Perera, Asst. Secretary: Jagath Jayasekera, Treasurer: Jerome Pereira, Asst. Treasurer: Rex Fernando,
Committee Members: Felix Alles (FOC Rep), Thusitha de Silva (Membership Secretary), Gaya Pathikirikorale, Navindra Nath, R.A. Fernando.
The Newsletter is intended to inform the Old Boys in UK about the activities of the O.B.A. during the last few years. The interest has been growing and new members have been actively involved in the interests of the O.B.A.
The Big Match between Rahula O.B.A. and SAC O.B.A. was played in Edmonton Cricket Club grounds on 19/06/11. SAC were the victors, scoring the required runs in the last over. Priyantha Cooray who top scored with 53 runs was adjudged the Man of the Match. A disco was held after the match and our boys showed their dancing talents. We are grateful to Felix, Navin and Jagath for organising the Match.
In the Festival of Cricket 2011, .S.A.C. entered the quarter finals. This was the best performance we had in the F.O.C. tournament. This year, the tournament will be held in Winchmore Hill grounds on 8th July 2012. Your presence is most welcome as an encouragement to our young cricketers. We hope to do better this year with your cheering. Remember the old phrases “Gahapan machan, Boundary Boundary. Arapan machan Sixer Sixer”.
Thanks to Jagath Jayasekera, we are on the internet – St. Aloysius College OBA Uk.
We are hoping to have our Dinner/Dance in October and will inform you once the date and venue are confirmed. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
We are proud to say that we have been supporting the College by contributing towards the upkeep of Kandawatta Playground, Fr. P.N. Peiris Scholarship Fund and providing sports facilities. Our contributions were:-
Kandawatta Playground Rs.1,000,000.00
Fr. P.N. Peiris Fund: Rs. 100,000.00
Sports Equipment: £350.00
Cricket coaching: £500.00.

- Hon. Chandima Weerakkody is the present Deputy Speaker of the House of Parliament.
- Dr. Jayantha de Silva is lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Kingston University.
- Dr. Ivan Amarasinghe is Sri Lankan Ambassador in Vietnam.
- Ismeth Magdon-Ismail, after retiring from Engineering decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and is now a qualified Attorney-at-Law. When asked why he thought of being a lawyer, his reply was, “My father’s black coat was gathering dust and I thought of making use of it”.
- Adrian Orr (Shirley’s Brother), is seriously ill and is warded in Milton Keynes Hospital. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated.
